Do you support teaching sign language to deaf babies?

Teaching sign language to hearing babies, so that they can communicate their needs, wants, feelings, thoughts, and questions to parents and caretakers before they can speak articulately, is a current trend (or fad). Books, CDs, and multimedia packages are plentiful; most are sold by hearing companies. Parents can even enroll in baby-signing classes. Traditionally, Deaf parents signed to all of their children from birth—but medical professionals still counsel hearing parents not to sign to deaf children. Society has become more accepting of signing to and by hearing babies—but what about deaf?
